SUPPORT EXPANSION OF MY UPCYCLING INNOVATION TO EMPOWER OTHERS

I am an innovator, environmental champion and creative in circular and blue economy space. My work entails artwork of transforming plastic waste into beautiful flowers and flower vases.

I am very passionate about community engagements and empowerment. Innovation requires team work to ensure its sustainability for long-term goals, hence, involving community members by training them on upcycling skills does not only cultivate a culture of environmental stewardship among the young people, but also creates inclusive employment opportunities for the vulnerable women and youth.

This project aims to empower 30 women aged 25-45 years, 20 youth aged 18-35 years and 30 school learners aged 12-22 years. Equipping the beneficiaries with upcycling skills will help us strengthen synergy towards reducing the enormous volume of single-use plastics leaking into our environment including our freshwater lake..Lake Victoria which supports the livelihoods of over 40 million people across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
