Help Candice Fight Nephrotic Syndrome

I am Tinashe Noel Tafira, Founder of SHUNAM Foundation, we are running this campaign on behalf of Candice Sibanda and Family.

The Sibanda Family world was forever changed in 2023 when their beautiful daughter, Candice (7), was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome—a chronic kidney disorder that no child should ever have to endure.

Nephrotic Syndrome causes severe swelling, constant fatigue, and places immense strain on Candice’s small body. Simple things most children enjoy—playing, running, laughing without pain—have become difficult. Watching your child suffer while feeling powerless is a pain no parent can fully describe.

Since her diagnosis, Candice has undergone ongoing treatment, including high-dose steroid medication, regular hospital visits, tests, and specialized care. While these treatments are essential to control the condition and give her a chance at remission, they come with significant and ongoing medical costs.

Recently, Candice’s symptoms have worsened, requiring more specialized treatment and closer medical monitoring. As parents, they are doing everything within their power to keep her comfortable, strong, and hopeful—but the financial burden has become overwhelming.

What We Are Fundraising For

The funds raised through this campaign will help cover:

• Prescription medications and ongoing treatment

• Hospital visits, tests, and monitoring
